How to choose the right converter

  • Use document converters when you need readable text, page images, printable PDFs or HTML/Markdown exports from an existing file.
  • Choose PDF-to-image output for visual page previews and PDF-to-text output when searchable text is more important than layout.
  • Use DOCX, Markdown and HTML tools with review in mind because fonts, complex tables, embedded objects and custom styling may differ after export.

Common PDF & documents conversion use cases

  • Export PDF pages as JPG, PNG or WebP previews for reports, listings or internal review.
  • Turn TXT, HTML or Markdown into a PDF for simple sharing or archiving.
  • Extract readable TXT or HTML from DOCX and EPUB files without installing a desktop editor.
  • Run OCR text extraction on scanned PDFs where normal text extraction is not available.

Best practices for clean results

  • Open the converted document before deleting the source because document layout can depend on fonts, embedded media and browser rendering.
  • For long or complex documents, test a representative sample before converting the full file.
  • Review results manually before using converted documents in legal, academic, financial or production workflows.

Should I use PDF-to-text or OCR?

Use PDF-to-text for PDFs that already contain selectable text. Use OCR when the PDF is scanned or image-based.
